A classic beef and broccoli comes together fast in the air fryer, with tender-crisp florets and savoury strips of beef in a glossy garlic sauce. It is a lighter, quicker take on the takeaway staple with barely any washing up.
Ingredients
- 450 g flank steak, thinly sliced
- 350 g broccoli florets
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp brown sugar
Method
- 1Toss the beef with soy sauce, cornflour and garlic and set aside for 10 minutes.
- 2Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3 minutes.
- 3Add the broccoli tossed in a little sesame oil and cook for 5 minutes.
- 4Add the beef and cook a further 5-9 minutes, tossing halfway, until the beef reaches 71°C (160°F).
- 5Whisk the oyster sauce and sugar with a splash of water and toss through the hot mixture.
- 6Serve immediately over steamed rice.
Tips for the best results
- Cut the broccoli into even, bite-sized florets so they cook at the same rate.
- Giving the broccoli a head start keeps it tender-crisp rather than raw in the middle.
