Ready in about 29 minutes.

Updated 7 September 2026

These stuffed beef burritos crisp up golden and crunchy in the air fryer while staying warm and cheesy inside. Rolling them tightly and toasting the seam side down gives that satisfying crackle without deep frying.

Ingredients

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 400 g tin refried beans
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 150 g grated cheese
  • 150 g cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp oil

Method

  1. 1Brown the beef with the taco seasoning until cooked through.
  2. 2Spread each tortilla with refried beans, then add beef, rice and cheese.
  3. 3Fold in the sides and roll up tightly into burritos.
  4. 4Brush the outsides lightly with oil and preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F).
  5. 5Cook seam-side down for 8-11 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp and golden.
  6. 6Rest for a minute before slicing in half to serve.

Tips for the best results

  • Do not overfill or the burritos will burst; a thin, even layer rolls up best.
  • Placing them seam-side down first seals the edge so they stay wrapped.
