Air Fryer Chicken Gyros

Greek-style marinated chicken with oregano, lemon and garlic, crisp at the edges and juicy within. The air fryer chars the strips beautifully, ready to tuck into warm pittas with tzatziki, tomato and red onion.
Ingredients
- 700 g chicken thighs, sliced
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper
- Pitta breads and tzatziki, to serve
Method
- 1Mix the oil, lemon, oregano, garlic, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper.
- 2Coat the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- 4Cook for 14-18 minutes, tossing halfway, until charred at the edges.
- 5Check the chicken reaches 74°C (165°F).
- 6Serve in warm pittas with tzatziki, tomato and onion.
Tips for the best results
- Thigh meat stays juicier than breast for gyros.
- Warm the pittas in the air fryer for the last minute.
