Updated 7 September 2026
Simple Mediterranean-style garlic prawns with olive oil, chilli and parsley. The air fryer delivers gambas-style flavour in minutes with none of the spitting oil on the hob.
Ingredients
- 500 g raw king prawns, peeled
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Handful of parsley, chopped
- Sea salt
Method
- 1Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/400°F for 3 minutes.
- 2Combine the prawns with olive oil, garlic, chilli flakes, paprika and salt.
- 3Tip into an air fryer-safe dish so the oil stays with the prawns.
- 4Air fry for 6-8 minutes, tossing halfway, until pink and fragrant.
- 5Stir through the lemon juice and parsley.
- 6Serve with bread to mop up the garlicky oil.
Tips for the best results
- Use a small metal tin so the flavoured oil pools around the prawns.
- Do not let the garlic burn; slicing keeps it milder than mincing.
