A lighter take on the takeaway favourite: crisp battered prawns in a creamy honey glaze with candied walnuts. The air fryer keeps the coating crunchy while cutting the deep-fried grease.
Ingredients
- 450 g large raw prawns, peeled
- 60 g cornflour
- 2 egg whites, whisked
- 100 g walnut halves
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Oil spray
Method
- 1Toss the walnuts with 1 tbsp honey and air fry at 160°C/320°F for 4 minutes; set aside to crisp.
- 2Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/400°F for 3 minutes.
- 3Dip prawns in whisked egg white, then coat in cornflour and mist with oil.
- 4Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway, until crisp and golden.
- 5Whisk the mayonnaise, remaining honey, condensed milk and lemon juice into a glaze.
- 6Toss the hot prawns in the glaze and top with candied walnuts.
