Air Fryer Loaded Fries

Crispy fries piled high with melted cheese, bacon and spring onion, all finished in the air fryer. The circulating heat crisps the chips and melts the toppings into a gloriously messy sharing plate.
Ingredients
- 700 g potatoes, cut into fries
- 1 tbsp oil
- 150 g grated cheddar
- 4 rashers cooked bacon, chopped
- 2 spring onions, sliced
- Soured cream to drizzle
- Salt and pepper
Method
- 1Soak the cut fries in cold water for 20 minutes, then pat completely dry.
- 2Toss with oil, salt and pepper. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/400°F.
- 3Cook the fries for 15-18 minutes, shaking twice, until golden and crisp.
- 4Scatter over the cheese and bacon and cook 3-4 minutes more until melted.
- 5Transfer to a plate and top with spring onion and soured cream.
- 6Serve immediately while hot and gooey.

- Soaking and drying the fries is the secret to maximum crispness.
- Add the cheese only at the end so it melts without burning.
