Air Fryer Meatball Sub

Saucy meatballs tucked into a sub roll under a blanket of melting mozzarella, toasted until the bread is crisp and the cheese is golden. The air fryer makes a proper deli-style sub at home in minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 sub rolls
- 8 cooked beef meatballs
- 200 g marinara sauce
- 100 g mozzarella, grated
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 tsp garlic granules
Method
- 1Warm the meatballs through in the marinara sauce.
- 2Preheat the air fryer to 180°C/360°F.
- 3Split the rolls, spread with butter and garlic granules, then toast for 2 minutes.
- 4Fill each roll with saucy meatballs and top with mozzarella and parmesan.
- 5Air fry for 4-6 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
- 6Check the meatballs are piping hot at 74°C/165°F before serving.
Tips for the best results
- Wrap the roll ends in foil if they brown too quickly.
- Fresh mozzarella slices give an extra-gooey pull.
