Updated 7 September 2026
Cubes of paneer marinated in spiced yoghurt and threaded with peppers and onion, charred in the air fryer. The high heat blisters the marinade like a tandoor, giving smoky, tender skewers without lighting the grill.
Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cubed
- 100g plain yoghurt
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 pepper, chunked
- 1 red onion, chunked
- 1 tbsp oil
Method
- 1Mix the yoghurt, ginger garlic paste, spices and oil into a marinade.
- 2Coat the paneer and vegetables and rest for 15 minutes.
- 3Thread paneer, pepper and onion alternately onto skewers.
- 4Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
- 5Air fry for 10-13 minutes, flipping halfway, until charred at the edges.
- 6Serve with mint chutney and lemon.
Tips for the best results
- Do not over-marinate paneer or it can turn soft.
- Cut the peppers and onion to match the paneer size.
- A squeeze of lemon at the end lifts the spices.
