Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak

This Philly classic of thinly sliced beef, sweet peppers and onions smothered in melty cheese is a doddle in the air fryer. The beef and veg cook together with lovely browned edges before piling into a soft roll for a proper hoagie.
Ingredients
- 400 g thinly sliced ribeye or minute steak
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 2 sub rolls
Method
- 1Toss the beef, onion and pepper with oil, salt and pepper.
- 2Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3 minutes.
- 3Cook the mixture for 10-14 minutes, tossing halfway, until the beef reaches 71°C (160°F).
- 4Divide into two piles in the basket and lay the cheese over the top.
- 5Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- 6Scoop into the rolls and serve immediately.
Tips for the best results
- Partially freezing the steak for 30 minutes makes it much easier to slice paper-thin.
- Warm the rolls in the air fryer for a minute at the end for the full experience.
