Air Fryer Tornado Potato
Ready in about 35 minutes.
Updated 7 September 2026
Spiral-cut tornado potatoes on skewers, crisp and seasoned, just like the Korean street-food stalls. The air fryer crisps every ridge golden so each twist crunches without deep-frying.
Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes
- 4 long wooden skewers
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Grated Parmesan to finish
Method
- 1Push a skewer through the centre of each potato lengthways.
- 2Hold a sharp knife at an angle and slice in a continuous spiral while rotating the potato, then gently fan the slices apart.
- 3Brush with oil and season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and salt.
- 4Preheat the air fryer to 190°C/375°F and lay the skewers across the basket.
- 5Cook for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp and golden.
- 6Dust with Parmesan and serve hot.
Tips for the best results
- Fan the spiral slices apart so hot air crisps every surface.
- Choose long, evenly shaped potatoes for the neatest tornado.
