What is the air fryer conversion from an oven?
Lower the oven temperature by 20°C / 25°F and cut the time by about 20%. A 30-minute bake at 180°C becomes about 24 minutes at 160°C.
How do you convert an oven temperature to an air fryer?
Lower the temperature by about 20°C (25°F) and cut the cooking time by roughly 20%. An air fryer drives hot air across the food far faster than an oven, so it browns quicker at a lower setting.
What is 180°C in an air fryer?
160°C, which is 320°F. A 30-minute oven bake at 180°C becomes about 24 minutes at 160°C in the air fryer.
What is 350°F in an air fryer?
325°F, which is 163°C. Reduce the cooking time by about 20% as well.
Does the 20% time reduction always apply?
It is a starting point. Thin or small food often cooks faster still, so check early. Dense items like a whole chicken may need close to the full oven time - go by internal temperature rather than the clock.
Do I need to preheat the air fryer when converting a recipe?
A 2-3 minute preheat helps anything breaded, frozen or that you want crisp. For longer cooks it makes very little difference.
