Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs come out with shatteringly crisp skin and juicy meat every time. A simple rub and a hot air fryer do all the work.
Ingredients
- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Method
- 1Pat the thighs completely dry and rub with the oil.
- 2Mix the salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper, then coat the thighs all over.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 200°C / 400°F for 3 minutes.
- 4Place the thighs skin-side up in a single layer.
- 5Air fry for 22-26 minutes, flipping halfway, until the skin is crisp.
- 6Check they reach 74°C / 165°F, then rest for 5 minutes and serve.
Tips for the best results
- Start skin-side down, then finish skin-side up for the crispiest result.
- Do not crowd the basket or the skin will steam instead of crisp.
