Air Fryer Fish and Chips

The British classic made lighter: crisp breaded cod fillets and golden chips, all from the air fryer. You get that chippy crunch with a fraction of the oil and no deep-frying mess.
Ingredients
- 4 skinless cod fillets
- 2 large potatoes, cut into chips
- 60 g plain flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 120 g panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp malt vinegar
- Salt and black pepper
- Oil spray
Method
- 1Toss the chips with olive oil, salt and pepper, then air fry at 200°C/400°F for 15 minutes, shaking twice; keep warm.
- 2Season the cod, then dust in flour, dip in egg and coat in panko.
- 3Mist the fillets with oil spray.
- 4Air fry the fish at 200°C/400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp and cooked through to 63°C/145°F.
- 5Sprinkle the chips with malt vinegar and salt.
- 6Serve the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce.
Tips for the best results
- Soak the raw chips in cold water for 20 minutes for extra crispness.
- Cook the chips first and the fish second so both are hot together.
