Air Fryer Fish Sticks

Homemade breaded fish fingers that come out crisp and golden with tender white fish inside. Far tastier than shop-bought and a guaranteed hit with children.

Ingredients

  • 500 g skinless white fish, cut into strips
  • 60 g plain flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 100 g panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Oil spray

Method

  1. 1Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/400°F for 3 minutes.
  2. 2Season the flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  3. 3Coat each fish strip in flour, then egg, then panko.
  4. 4Mist with oil spray and lay out in a single layer.
  5. 5Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked to 63°C/145°F.
  6. 6Serve with ketchup or tartare sauce.

Tips for the best results

  • Cod, pollock or haddock all work well here.
  • Freeze the breaded sticks raw and cook straight from frozen, adding a few minutes.
