Juicy sausages with deeply browned skins and hardly any mess. The air fryer cooks them evenly, keeps them succulent inside and gives you an easy dinner staple in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 8 pork sausages
  • 1 tsp olive oil (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage or thyme (optional)

Method

  1. 1Prick nothing - leave the sausages whole so they stay juicy.
  2. 2If you like, rub lightly with a little oil and pepper.
  3. 3Preheat the air fryer to 190°C / 375°F for 3 minutes.
  4. 4Arrange the sausages in a single layer with space around each one.
  5. 5Air fry for 12-16 minutes, turning halfway, until browned and cooked through.
  6. 6Check the centre reaches 71°C / 160°F, then rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Tips for the best results

  • Thicker butcher’s sausages need the full time, while thinner chipolatas cook faster.
  • Serve in buns, with mash, or slice into pasta and traybakes.
