Air Fryer Italian Sausage
Ready in about 17 minutes.
Updated 7 September 2026
Juicy Italian sausages cook up beautifully browned and blistered in the air fryer with no splattering pan. The dry heat renders the fat evenly so the skins snap while the inside stays succulent.
Ingredients
- 6 Italian sausages
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- 1 tsp fennel seeds (optional)
- Salt and black pepper
- Crusty rolls, to serve
- Sautéed peppers and onions, to serve
Method
- 1Prick the sausages lightly and brush with a little oil if you like.
- 2Preheat the air fryer to 180°C/360°F.
- 3Arrange the sausages in a single layer with space between them.
- 4Cook 10-13 minutes, flipping halfway, until browned all over.
- 5Check they reach 71°C/160°F in the centre.
- 6Rest 2 minutes and serve in rolls with peppers and onions.
Tips for the best results
- Leave space between sausages so they brown rather than steam.
- No need to add oil for standard sausages; they release plenty of fat.
