Ready in about 45 minutes.
Updated 7 September 2026
Sticky, glazed beef short ribs come out meltingly tender from the air fryer once marinated. The circulating heat caramelises the sweet-savoury glaze into a glossy lacquer while rendering the fat, giving you fall-apart ribs with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 900 g beef short ribs
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
Method
- 1Whisk soy, honey, sugar, garlic, ginger and sesame oil into a marinade.
- 2Coat the ribs and leave to marinate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for 4 minutes.
- 4Cook the ribs for 25-35 minutes, flipping halfway and basting with reserved marinade.
- 5Cook until tender and the internal temperature reaches 71°C (160°F).
- 6Scatter with sesame seeds and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips for the best results
- Boil any leftover marinade for a couple of minutes and brush it on as a finishing glaze.
- Line the drawer with a little foil to catch drips and make cleanup easier.
