Chicken breast rolled around ham and melting Swiss cheese, wrapped in a crisp breadcrumb crust. The air fryer keeps the coating crunchy and the cheese gooey inside, delivering this classic French-style dish with much less oil.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, butterflied
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 80 g plain flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 120 g breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper
- Oil spray
Method
- 1Layer ham and cheese on each flattened breast, then roll up tightly and secure with cocktail sticks.
- 2Coat each roll in flour, egg and breadcrumbs.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 185°C (365°F) and spray with oil.
- 4Cook for 16-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden.
- 5Check the chicken reaches 74°C (165°F) without the filling leaking.
- 6Rest for a few minutes, remove sticks and serve.
Tips for the best results
- Chill the rolls for 15 minutes before cooking so they hold their shape.
- Do not overfill or the cheese will escape during cooking.
