Golden, shredded hash browns with lacy crisp edges and a fluffy centre. Rinsing and squeezing the potato is the secret, and the air fryer crisps them beautifully with barely any oil.
Ingredients
- 500 g potatoes, peeled
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Method
- 1Grate the potatoes, then rinse and squeeze out as much water as possible.
- 2Mix with the cornflour, oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 200°C/400°F.
- 4Press the mixture into patties or an even layer in the basket.
- 5Cook for 6 minutes, flip carefully, then cook 6-9 minutes more until crisp.
- 6Serve immediately while golden and hot.
