Sweet, caramelised carrots with golden edges and tender centres. They are one of the easiest air fryer vegetable sides and go with everything from chicken to salmon.
Ingredients
- 500 g carrots, peeled and cut into batons or thick rounds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Method
- 1Cut the carrots into even pieces so they roast at the same speed.
- 2Toss with the oil, honey, salt, pepper and thyme.
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 190°C / 375°F.
- 4Spread the carrots in a single layer in the basket.
- 5Air fry for 15-18 minutes, shaking halfway, until tender and lightly caramelised.
- 6Serve hot, with a little extra thyme or chopped parsley if you like.
Tips for the best results
- Baby carrots also work, but larger batons caramelise more deeply.
- A touch of honey helps the edges colour beautifully without making them too sweet.
