Air Fryer Churros

Crisp, ridged churros dusted in cinnamon sugar - all the joy of the fairground with none of the deep-frying.
Ingredients
- 250 ml water
- 60 g butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 125 g plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 100 g caster sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
- 1Bring the water, butter, sugar and salt to a boil, then stir in the flour until a dough forms.
- 2Cool slightly, then beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.
- 3Pipe 10 cm lengths onto baking paper using a star nozzle and chill 20 minutes.
- 4Preheat the air fryer to 190°C / 375°F and spray the basket.
- 5Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
- 6Toss in the cinnamon sugar and serve with chocolate sauce.
Tips for the best results
- Chill the piped dough so the churros hold their ridges.
- A star nozzle gives the classic ridged shape and best crunch.
